You can use them to introduce new words or to practice the communication skills. Here are some examples for communication practice:

• A student picks three to five different cards. The task: to create a recipe using these products. The result can be unexpected. ;)
• A student chooses one card. The task is to advertise this product. (When my students did this task, a lot of things were mentioned, from the simple description and healthy influence to the variety of recipes, and even the financial side of the issue. :)
