This resource includes a board with 30 numbers and 30 cards featuring sentences with gaps to be completed using possessive adjectives and pronouns.

An interactive version is also included for use on electronic devices.

This game can be played in two different ways. On the one hand, it can be used as a traditional board game with counters and a die. In this version, students take turns to roll the die and move their counter to the corresponding square. They then select the matching card and complete the sentence using the appropriate possessive adjective or pronoun.

On the other hand, the game can be adapted by following the alternative rules outlined below. For this version, you will need the following materials: lollipop sticks, permanent markers or stickers to write the numbers and words, a timer, and a container such as a pencil pot, glass, cup or small bucket. First, write the numbers and words on the sticks, or cut out and stick the words onto them. Then place all the sticks in the container.

This version of the game can be played in pairs or teams. Students take turns to pick a stick from the container and say the word or produce a sentence corresponding to the number.

In addition to the numbered sticks, you can include special sticks to make the game more engaging:

• “Boom” – the student must return all the sticks they have collected to the container.

• “Super Boom” – both teams must return all their sticks to the container and the game starts again.

• “Steal 1” – the student takes one stick from the opposing team.

• “Exchange” – both teams exchange one stick.

• “Bonus” – the team keeps the stick and takes another turn.

• “Miss a turn” – the team misses their next turn.

The winneris the player or team who has collected the most sticks when the time runs out.

To increase the level of challenge, instead of simply counting the sticks, you can add up the numbers written on them. The winner is the team with the highest total score.
