With this file, you'll have a very complete Didactic Unit to explore different artistic techniques and study Leonardo's work.
What will you find?
First Activity: Students will paint a portrait of Leonardo using coffee. They must apply successive layers until achieving the desired effect.
Biography Graphic Organizers: You'll find two graphic organizers to work on Leonardo da Vinci's biography. Students can complete them individually, in pairs, or in groups, gathering information at home or at school.
The Vitruvian Man: This is a fun activity to check whether Leonardo da Vinci accurately calculated the proportions of the "perfect man." Students must select four adults and, following the instructions on the worksheet, take a series of measurements.
Leonardo's Paintings: These graphic organizers allow you to either provide printed paintings for discussion or ask students to draw or search for images themselves.
The Mona Lisa: A fun worksheet where students research Leonardo's most famous painting. They must write two truths and one lie about it, share them with classmates, and try to guess which one is the lie.
Ginevra de’ Benci - Version 1: Students will paint Ginevra as close to the original as possible using wax crayons.
Ginevra de’ Benci - Version 2: In this version, students can creatively transform Ginevra, adding colors and designing their own background.
The Challenge: Build a parachute in teams using the provided materials: paper, straws, tape, and yarn. Once all teams have their parachutes ready, they’ll drop them from a window. The last parachute to reach the ground will be the winner of this challenge.
