Learning English is not just about learning vocabulary. It's about understanding the vocabulary and using it actively!
I love doing some kind of OWL craft with the children at school after reading one of my 'Read and Rhyme with Brown Owl' picture books.
It makes a nice souvenir of the story and helps them to remember the key word OWL, as well as other vocabulary.
1) UPCYCLED OWL
Make an owl out of an old toilet roll (painting, cutting, sticking)
Extension: write a description of your owl
2) ORIGAMI OWL BOOKMARK
I used the tutorial from Red Ted Art: Easy Owl Origami Bookmark Design - Red Ted Art - Make crafting with kids easy & fun)
Extension: paint a tree to stick the owls onto
TIP: use scrap paper for the eyes, beaks and wings
Have fun reading and rhyming with Brown Owl!
