This PowerPoint is ideal for introducing the students to New York City in a fun and engaging way. It's based on "Who wants to be a millionaire?" While playing the quiz in small teams, they create an infosheet with lots of interesting facts about the city, from landmarks to NYC's history! To make it even more fun, SOUNDS are included ;-)
Teaching idea: Divide the students into groups of 3 to 4 students. They should create small cards with the letters A - D. On the board, draw a table with the team names and then add a point for each question the teams get right. Go through the slides and make sure the speakers are on so that the game gets even more intense! Give them a bit of time to discuss the question in their teams and then make all teams answer at the same time by raising their answer sheets (letters A - D). If they get it right, they get a point.
To make it more educational, get your students to write down important facts, which are added throughout the presentation. In the end, they should have created a nice factsheet about NYC.
