Board game in the shape of a ghost to play noughts and crosses with Halloween vocabulary. Each player or team takes it in turn to place their counters into one of the empty squares on the ghost . To win the game they should get three of their symbols in a line horizontally, vertically or diagonally. In order to practise English, they should make a sentence or tell the word on the counter before placing it on the ghost.

Unscramble cards. Students should find and put in order the letter of the card given.We have used wooden alphabet scrabble tiles, but you can use magnetic letters instead, print an alphabet on cardboard or even make your students write the words on the cards to practise spelling.

We are going on a pumpkin hunt. Students are given a list with the vocabulary they should find. Set a time limit. Hide the pumpkins with the icons around the classroom. Give children the list and let them scavenge for the pumpkins around the classroom until they find all the words.The player or team who ticks everything off on their list first, or ticks off the most items before the time is up, will win the game.
