This is a really fun game! The idea is to work on vocabulary related to school objects. First you put the page with all the school objects inside a flat tray and cover it with sand, rice, cornmeal or something similar. You place the deck of cards upside down. Then one of the students takes a card and asks his/her friends ‘Where is the pencil hidden?’ and taking turns the rest of the students must use their fingers to move whatever is covering the school objects and try to find that specific one. Extra! You can use the flashcards to play so many other games! For example giving small groups the set of flashcards and asking them to spread them around. Then you say ‘Show me the ruler!’ and they must pick up the correct card. You can play this in a competitive way or not. Just choose according to your students’ learning style! You can print the flashcards and boardgame in a large A3 size of this pdf or the smaller A4 version. The pictures used are real photographs of classroom objects. They are great to use for preschool, kindergarten, speech therapy, autism, ESL, special education and early intervention.
