All About California Booklet

This resource is part of my California Bundle, which includes this 29-page "All about California Booklet", 20 California Sights and Activities Cards, a Virtual Roadtrip (interactive PDF), an interactive PowerPoint Presentation, 20 Flashcards (attractions) and the Fantasy Vacation Worksheets.

This is a small and compact booklet about California. Topics covered are for example geography, history, culture, famous personalities, California Natives or native animals. At the end of the day, your students will not only know "All about California" but enjoy every step on the way.

If you are teaching an ESL class, you can use the vocabulary list which can be created individually or with the teacher's guidance while working on the pages.

IDEAS FOR TEACHING

You can work with this booklet in a variety of ways. Students can work on the individual topics alone, in pairs or with the teacher's guidance. If students try it by themselves, make sure they use a pencil so that they can correct mistakes more easily. This way it is ensured that the booklet still looks nice in the end.

PRINTING TIPS

The pages are arranged in the order I have chosen, so that you can print two pages on one sheet and on both sides. This means that the pages follow a linear order when the booklet is printed out. However, you can arrange them as you please.

MORE TIPS

To add even more variety to the lesson, you can use my interactive

PowerPoint which is perfectly aligned to this resource. It is therefore very advisable to use the two materials simultaneously.

For example: You can do the tasks in the "All About California Booklet" first and then use the presentation slides as the answer key. If you have smartboards available, you can ask the students to approach the board and click on the elements. The student can then read the information out loud. As soon as that person is done, the next student can do the same. This way everyone contributes actively to the lesson and students have the ability to move around the classroom.
