How to use these cards for language learning games

Charades

Charades is a word guessing game. A player acts out a word, while other players guess the word or phrase. That means that charades is a game of pantomimes and you have to "act out" a word or a phrase without speaking, your team members must try to guess what the word or phrase is as quickly as possible before time runs out. This material contains terms for male and female athletes.

What card is missing?

All cards are visibly displayed. With the exception of the game master, all players memorize the names of the athletes on the cards. Then you will be asked to close your eyes. The game master removes a card and the other players have to guess which card is missing.

These cards with images showing athletes can be used to practice the following vocabulary in English:
