I designed this material as a unit for practicing presentations. The students are supported by the Power Point in finding a topic, there are criteria for evaluating the presentations, as well as many handouts and aids with regard to language and body language. The unit is designed, so that the students work on their presentations for about 2 weeks and then submit them. After that, 1-2 weeks are spent on practicing the presentations, as well as language and body language training. This is followed by the presentations. In addition to the formal evaluation criteria for the teacher, there are also feedback cards for the students, both for the preliminary exercises and for the actual presentation. You have to plan another 1-2 weeks for the presentations, depending on how many students you have. I taught this unit in an advanced level course and it was very well received. The students thought it to be very helpful. I would recommend not to use it too late because some of the pupils have found that they have to take on some extra tasks or have special experiences needed for special scholarships and internships. It takes a lot of lead time for this.
These materials can also be used for business English classes, which is what I originally had made them for.
