This material was produced in English for "The Hate U Give". This lesson serves to gain an overview of the development of the protagonist Starr. First, the students are divided into groups and deal individually with various quotes from the book. Afterwards, the students have time to discuss the quotes together and determine how Starr behaves at this point in time, or what her emotions are. In a round of introductions, the students present their quotes and the development status and can then see how the protagonist changes over the course of the novel. The lesson is designed for the advanced level and fits both the topics "growing up" and "African Americans". The lesson is designed to last 45 minutes, but this was my exam lesson and it was well relieved, which is why you can use 90 minutes on it.
