What makes my new series of fact files of important people from history, science and culture so special?
Writing fact files about role models, famous leaders and well -knows personalities has always been a popular task at school. This includes researching, processing data and often an oral presentation of the facts found.
Unfortunately, many students can't see the added value of such fact files as they usually contain a mere collection of biographical key points. Boring facts and figures that no one can even remember!
That's why fact files in sketchnote form are a popular variety. All the more so as students can build a "personal relationship" during the writing process. Asking interesting questions and looking at various sides of a character can lead to a deeper understanding of a person and is a great basis for further discussion in class. After all, the aim of such exercises is above all to reconstruct the life and work of a person and to expand general knowledge.
I have also included an info text for your pupils, which briefly explains how to create an interesting fact file. The worksheets are included in four variations (colored / black and white / with and without given questions / prompts).
