This teaching material is designed to help beginner Chinese learners learn the basic characters that belong to Level 1 of the official HSK Chinese language exam interactively and practically.

It is recommended that the Leitner System be used to learn the characters. The system consists of using at least four boxes or containers, where the cards are distributed as they are learned.

Start with all the cards in group number 1. The person tries to remember the answer; if successful, the card moves to the next group. If not, the card returns to the first group. Therefore, each group will necessarily have a longer time than the previous one before the individual sees the card in question again.

To counteract the forgetting curve, cards that are immediately remembered and moved to groups 2, 3, and 4 can be repeated after one week and again after 15 days.

Content of the material:

• Character Cards: cards with Chinese characters, pinyin pronunciation, and meaning.
• Blank Cards: 8 blank cards to create new cards if you wish.

There are 150 characters in total, the same characters are repeated but with different pronunciations, for example: 都 dōu/dū, 觉 jiào/jué, and 子 zǐ/zi.

The cards are designed in pairs: the card on the left contains the character, and the card on the right pinyin, meaning, and so on. You can cut out the pairs, fold the pair in half horizontally, and get a card with information on both sides.

NOTE: We recommend to laminate the cards for greater durability.
