These templates will be a fun and creative way for students to practise their writing skills.

Klassenstufen: 8-9. Klasse

This original poem about Esme the elf, is a fun way to bring some Christmas spirit into your classroom.Once you've read the poem to your class, they can learn and practise the poem for themselves. You can divide your class into small groups and each group can decide how to perform the poem, or you can do it as a whole class, and give each line to one or two students. There is also a cut up version of the poem for your students to put the text back in the correct order.I have also created some extension activities for the students:Label the Elf - For lower level students there is a cut & glue activities with 6 words, for higher level students, they must label the elf using the word bank at the top of the worksheet.Reading text - learn all about a day in the life of Esme Elf in a fun reading text. There is also a short comprehension activity to accompany it. The reading text is available in 2 different levels.Elf Generator - What would your name be if you were an elf!Elf Yourself - A creative worksheet for the kids to imagine what they would be like as an elf. Higher level students can also write a text about their life as an elf.

This fun activity for Christmas that will get your students out of their seats and moving around the classroom.There are 2 levels.Level 1 - Find it!Hang up the cards around the room.Give each student a worksheetStudents read the sentences on their worksheet, and walk around the room to find the matching picture. When they find it, they write the number of  the picture next to the sentence.Level 2 - Write it!Hang up the cards  around the room. Give each student a worksheetStudents walk around the room and find the picture which has the same number as on their worksheet. They look at the picture and write down what Christmas action Colin is doing. There are also flashcards to help you present the verbs before you start the activity. There are 2 different versions of the flashcards, infinitive or gerund.

This is a fun speaking activity to get everyone in the Christmas mood!You can do this activity with 7 kids or with 27! It is very flexible.Each kid gets a Christmas character with information on it about what their name is, what they eat, what they like, what they don't like and what their favourite Christmas activity is.Then the party starts and everyone walks around the room talking to each other, asking their questions and writing the info on their worksheet. Make it even more fun by playing Christmas music in the background.There is also an extra activity that you can do with 11 of the cards. This activity can be done as a follow-up to the whole class speaking activity, or as an indepedent reading activity.
