Read and Rhyme with Brown Owl - BUNDLE of Beebot Cards / Flashcards

These 18 key word Beebot picture and word cards can be used in many different ways!1) Retell the story of 'Brown Owl and the Bee Hive'Fill the Beebot mat with either the picture or word cards.Retell the story and at certain points ask the children to programm Beebot to a new card.e.g. Beebot starts at Brown Owl. He meets his friend Busy Lizzy. Programm Beebot to visit Busy Lizzy.They then visit the hive. Programm Beebot to go to the hive. etc2) Children take a task card and programm Beebot between the three pictures.If the task card has words on it, children use the mat with the picture cards. If the task card has pictures on it, children use the mat with the words in it. This turns the activity into a reading activity too.The children can write down their code on the worksheet and self check their route. Alternatively they choose their own route and write/draw it in the blank spaces.3) Turn the cards into a giant game of pairs!4) Use the cards as flashcards!Have fun reading and rhyming with Brown Owl!

Practise key words and/or retell the rhyming story of 'Brown Owl at the Seashore' with these 15cm x 15cm BeeBot cards. N.B. These cards also double up as flashcards or a giant game of pairs!I have created two sets of cards.Set 1 contains words that begin with the letter 's'.Set 2 contains other key words from the story.Here is how to use the task cards:Children have to programme BeeBot on a certain route, e.g. from the sun, to the sea, via the sandcastle.These task cards are available in picture format (non-readers) or word format (readers).Furthermore there is a worksheet to write down their code and self check their route. Alternatively they choose their own route and write/draw it in the blank spaces.TIP: Fill the BeeBot mat with the pictures, children read the word on their card and send BeeBot to it. Or fill the mat with the word cards and children choose a task card with pictures.Here are some further options for working with the BeeBot cards:Version 1: The teacher tells the children where to program BeeBot to next by reading the story, e.g. Mum and Dad, it's time to pack! We need sunglasses, sun cream, books and a snackVersion 2: Once the children get the hang of it, they can tell their partner where to program BeeBot to next! e.g . BeeBot can see the sea!
