This creative Back-to-School project invites students to step into the role of content creators and design a connected four-part social media series for a “School Survival Guide”. They combine visuals, captions and hashtags to share useful ideas for a successful start to the new school year. Although the task uses a social-media format, the entire project can be completed analogue and without digital devices.
The project links creative writing, visual design and media literacy. Students plan their content, develop four connected posts and reflect on how effectively their message reaches the target audience.

The material is suitable for Back-to-School lessons, creative writing activities, project work or media literacy units from Grade 7 onwards. Students can work individually or in pairs. Depending on the chosen format and level of detail, the full project can be completed in approximately 45 to 90 minutes.
