Subitizing is the ability to recognize a small group of objects without counting. It is a fundamental skill in the development of number sense. Using different strategies to figure out the total of a group is referred as "conceptual subitizin".

Use this subitizing cards as brain breaks, math talks, with whole or small groups. 

How to use?

Start with smaller number cards, showing each on of them for 3 seconds. Have students say the number and their strategy. When your students can recognize groups of five you can move to the 6-10 cards.
