Brown Owl at the Zoo (animals) - MEGA BUNDLE

Young learners can colour their favourite animals from the story 'Brown Owl at the Zoo' and stick them on lolly sticks.The sticks can then be used for various games/activities:1) The teacher uses the key phrase from the rhyming picture book "LIONS are roaring at the zoo! Pandas are eating bamboo!" All the children with a lion/panda etc hold it up.2) The children hold up the sticks as they hear the animals in the story.3) Play a game of change places. The children choose one or two animals on sticks and sit in a circle. Story walks are a great way to practise and improve reading skills.This story walk revisits the animals Brown Owl meets in the rhyming picture book 'Brown Owl at the Zoo'.It's a sunny day! Let's go to the zoo!Cat sees a panda eating bamboo! etc.HOW TO USE THE ACTIVITY:1) learn the key words from the story. Children can make their own accordion books to help them read the zoo animals that come up in the story 'Brown Owl at the Zoo'. The books are very simple to make.  Simply cut off the edges, fold along the middle line and then fold like a fan. Next, colour the pictures, cut them out and stick them above the correct word. TIP: The colouring of the picture sheets can also be carried out as a colour dictation. E.g. Where is the elephant? Colour the elephant grey!EXTRA: Play games! Ask the children to show you the wolf/giraffe/monkey etcYou can also play guessing games. Pick a page in your book. Can the kids guess which one it is? E.g. Is it the hippo? Yes, it is!
