This is the perfect game for getting your advanced ESL learners talking about travelling and exploring the world! Ideal for B1+ and B2 language learners. For learners who need extra support, a reference card with the most important vocabulary and their definitions is provided, allowing for effective differentiation.

How to play:

• The game is played in small groups (3–4 people).
• Each group needs game pieces, a die, and a mobile phone to keep time.
• The person whose turn it is must speak about the question they land on for at least 40 seconds (coherently and, if possible, without mistakes). The other players keep track of the time.
• If the person does not manage this or makes too many mistakes, they must move their piece back by the number rolled on the die.

I usually stopped the game after about 20 minutes; at that point, most groups had not quite finished yet. The winner is the person who has advanced the farthest.
