The Blizzard: Reading and Writing

How does Simon experience the worst snowstorm of his life? Discover exciting material for your English lessons! It helps your students improve their reading comprehension, vocabulary, and writing skills in a targeted manner.

This material offers you:

• An authentic blog post written by an American student named Simon. He recounts his experiences during a severe snowstorm and how he is stuck at home.
• Comprehensive reading comprehension tasks that allow for deep immersion in the text and promote global and detailed understanding.
• A variety of vocabulary exercises: Your students find synonyms and keywords directly from the text. This reinforces their active and passive vocabulary.
• A creative writing task in which learners write their own blog post. They slip into Simon's role and describe how he is doing after two days in the snowstorm.
• Suggestions for presenting and discussing the texts they have written in class. This strengthens their oral expression skills and promotes exchange among themselves.
