This English journal should be handed out at the beginning of the school year to give pupils an overview of their strengths and weaknesses in the various language skills.
Students learn to self-evaluate their skills, set themselves long-term and short-term goals and document their progress so that they can take another look at their performance at the end of the school year and reflect on the school year.
Moreover, a vocabulary list and a reading log are also included. Finally, practical tips are included on how students can improve in the various skills themselves and outside the classroom.
The journal is designed to give students a sense of responsibility for their successes and to increase motivation throughout the school year as they can celebrate smaller achievements.
